Milwaukee Bucks at Orlando Magic Preview
The Milwaukee Bucks (32-20) square off with the Orlando Magic (17-35) at the Amway Center tonight and the latest NBA odds have the Bucks favored by 8.5 with an over/under of 224.5. Below we preview the matchup from a sports betting perspective and provide a free NBA pick and prediction.
We’re not sure if these are the Milwaukee Bucks or perhaps some G-League entry these days after all five Milwaukee starters sat out Friday’s 127-119 loss to the Hornets. Time for Mike Budenholzer to maybe give a ring to Kareem, the Big O, Jon McGlocklin, or any number of old Bucks, for reinforcements? Whatever, it’s a tough call at the moment to back Milwaukee, with Giannis (sore left knee) having missed four straight games, while Jrue Holiday (bruised left knee), Kris Middleton (sore right knee), Donte DeVincenzo (bruised right hip) and Brook Lopez (sore back) also sidelined vs. Charlotte.
|Milwaukee||112||6||-5||4||8||18-8 / 14-12||13-13 / 9-17||17-9 / 14-12||+7.8 / +3.3||-8 / -6.5|
|Orlando||113||NL||13 (2)||12||8||10-17 / 7-18||14-12 / 13-12||13-14 / 12-12||-4.7 / -9.7||+3.5 / +6|
In their absences, Louisville rookie F Jordan Nwora has flashed some real upside, including a season-high 24 points on Friday, but with a chance, some or all of the Milwaukee starters remain out for another game, the Bucks are a risky call. So, too, is Orlando Magic, which has dropped four straight and 17 of its last 21, though the Magic have been battling hard most nights since the big clear-out at the trade deadline, with varied sorts such as journeyman G James Ennis, still-maturing 7-footer Mo Bamba, former Bulls first-round PF Wendell Carter, Jr., and ex-Florida State wing Dwayne Bacon all trying to impress Steve Clifford and the Orlando brass enough to keep them part of the future plans at Amway Center. Gary Harris also made his first Magic appearance on Friday since the trade deadline deal with Denver and scored 8 points in 18 minutes in a close loss to the Pacers. Keep in mind that Orlando has only had a couple of truly subpar efforts since the trade deadline, dropping just 2 of last 9 vs. number (not bad!), and can definitely make a case against the Bucks if they are indeed shorthanded once again. Though the personnel questions on the Bucks side suggest extreme caution before investing much in this one.
